First of all, it is lightweight compared to its laptop counterparts. It has a weight of 2.15 kg, but you can understand the reason for this structure when you see the adapter that comes out of the box.

The laptop comes with a large adapter with 135 Watts. While this does affect portability a bit, the three-cell lithium-ion battery can always be excused because of the charge time and power it provides. I can say that this situation is also reflected in the filling ratio, especially since it has three cells.

When we look at the working time, we can see that it goes up to 10 hours in normal use. Although I used it extensively in my tests, I encountered a battery performance exceeding 8 hours, which is quite a satisfactory time.

If you like simple designs like me, I am sure you will love the Acer Aspire 7 model. The non-staining case structure has also minimized the fingerprint problem. Normally, such products, especially the cover part, are quite dirty. However, thanks to the matte structure used, you do not encounter such a problem. Although plastic material is used in the body part, it feels like it has a good quality.

In other words, even when you try to open it with one hand, you see that the main body does not move and lid opens easily. Of course, when we lift the lid, the screen draws our attention first. An HD camera is located at the top. Especially considering the importance of online meetings today, I can say that it offers an adequate performance. In the frame part, I have to say that I find the general structure a bit thick.

A chiclet design is used on the keyboard. Although the gaps in the Numepad part are narrow, typing is comfortable. In addition to the wide gap structure, the backlit design has made the keyboard work smoothly. On the bottom, there is a Touch Pad with a fingerprint sensor. This area also works smoothly in double finger use.

Another point I should mention in terms of design is the ventilation grilles. Acer has been very generous in this regard and has positioned ventilation grilles in every space it finds. At the back of the case, there is already a large ventilation structure that expels the hot air inside.

When you turn the laptop upside down, you can see the much larger ventilation section below. This part is kept almost as big as the fans in the interior and it has a significant effect on the cooling performance of the device.

The Acer Aspire 7 is powered by an 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 5700U processor. On the graphics card side, we see the RTX 3050 model. Apart from 16 GB DD4 memory, there is 512 GB M.2 SSD storage. Of course, considering the future updates, dual channels were preferred in the Ram slot. In other words, you can also upgrade to 32 GB RAM.

As I mentioned at the beginning, the 5700U model is a performance processor due to its low power consumption. This has a positive effect on the cooling performance even in situations that put a load on the device. In addition to the dual fan system, triple cooling pipes are already used. Two of these triple pipes cool the processor and graphics card, while the other is directly reserved for the graphics card.

The device has a 1080P 144hz display. As you know, 144Hz is very important especially for competitive games. The viewing angle on this IPS screen offers a smooth clarity of up to 45 degrees. Considering the 1080P performance according to vivid colors and screen size, it is possible to say that it is at the expected level in games.

Gaming Performance

You can easily catch 144 Hz in competitive games like PUBG, Apex Legends. It goes up to 160 – 170 FPS without any problems. Likewise, open world games such as GTA V can easily reach 70-80 FPS rates, while in productions such as Red Dead Redemption 2 and Cyberpunk 2077, it is possible to exceed the 30 FPS limit at high settings.

For example, I tried the Call of Duty Modern Warfare II beta test on this model and easily passed the 60 FPS limit at high settings. It is also necessary to consider that the game will probably run in a more optimized way when it comes out.
